Don’t you just love this time of year? Holiday music and Christmas lights are just a few of my favorite things.
Know what else I love? Podcasts (yes, podcasts).
Here a few of my favorite that will help you grow your business and gain expertise:
1). Top Advisor Marketing with Matt Halloran. I binge-listened to Matt on a nine-hour drive to Disney World over Thanksgiving. Been hooked ever since. He’s a great podcaster, and his insight is well beyond marketing.
Recommendations:
Episode 113 – the Keys to the Ladies Room with Adri Miller-Heckman. I’m a dude, so, you know. I need to learn from people like Adri.
Episode 114 – Are you Brand Worthy with Kirk Lowe. You should listen to this podcast before you answer that question.
2). Between Now and Success with Steve Sanduski, CFP. Steve is a coach and offers advisor-tools for Life-Centered Planning. He understands how successful advisors think and act.
Recommendations: The Importance of Self-Awareness and Action in Delivering Great Financial Advice with Joe Deitch. Joe is the founder of Commonwealth Financial Network, and author of, “Elevate: An Essential Guide to Life.”
3). The Resilient Advisor with Jay Coulter, CFP, CIMA. Jay’s consulting firm helps advisors turn their business into an enterprise.
Recommendation: How Financial Advisors Can Build A Franchise Ready Business With Duncan MacPherson. Duncan shares his Rule of Three: Anything you do three or more times that has three or more steps needs to be systematized. Be ready to take lots of notes during this episode.
4). Lead to Win with Michael Hyatt. Michael is an ex-CEO of a Fortune 500 company and provides extensive leadership training. We use his resources extensively in our office.
Recommendation: Episode 27 – Self-Care as a Leadership Discipline. Discover the three amazing ways that slowing down helps you get more done.
5). Financial Advisor Success with Michael Kitces, CFP. Michael appears on every “Best Podcasts for Financial Advisors” list I’ve ever seen.
Recommendation: Episode 101: Financial Advisors As Adherence Partners To Deliver Advice That Actually Sticks with Moira Somers. The author of Advice That Sticks shares why clients sometimes don’t take the advice we give them and what to do about it.
The key to consistently listening to podcasts is finding the right time. Maybe it’s early in the morning, or on your drive to work.
Think of a block of time that is part of your day or week, and work on making it a habit.
