Morningstar Retirement, a group within Morningstar Investment Management LLC, announced today it has joined the Retirement Advisor Council as an associate member.
Nathan Voris, head of Channel Strategy at Morningstar Investment Management LLC, will represent Morningstar Retirement in the Council.
“Our mission is to make retirement a reality, and membership in the Council allows us to share in that commitment with other equally motivated industry players to advocate for a better retirement system,” said Voris in a statement. “We are excited about the opportunity to work with the Retirement Advisor Council membership to advocate for successful retirement plan outcomes for sponsors and retirement plan participants.”
Morningstar Retirement provides services, products, and offerings for the retirement industry, and works as a part of Morningstar Investment Management LLC, a subsidiarity of Morningstar, Inc. It provides managed account services, target-date products, custom models, fiduciary services, and more to investors.
Morningstar Retirement is the latest to join and the first to announce its partnership with the Retirement Advisor Council in 2024. Other associate members include Fiduciary Decisions, a data source provider for the retirement industry, and the Retirement Plan Advisory Group, an alliance of retirement advisors and institutions.
Last April, OneAmerica announced it would join the Council as one of 13 service providers in the Council membership, which include ADP Retirement Services, Ameritas, Charles Schwab, Corebridge Financial, Empower, Fidelity Investments, John Hancock Retirement Plan Services, Lincoln Financial Group, and others.
The Retirement Advisor Council, formed in 2009, advocates for qualified plan and participant retirement outcomes through the help of qualified retirement plan advisors, investment managers, and defined contribution (DC) plan service providers.
Specifically, the Council identifies the duties, responsibilities, and attributes of the retirement plan advisor; shares professional standard with plan sponsors; offers tools to evaluate advisors to ensure the quality of services provided; and more.
