Annuities and aging rockers—an unlikely partnership that just seems to work.
The Alliance for Lifetime Income announced that it will once again be the sole sponsor of the 2020 Rolling Stones “No Filter” tour.
This is the second consecutive year that the Alliance has sponsored the Rolling Stones’ U.S. tour, with the original announcement sparking puns about Mick and the boys’ advanced age.
“Last year, the Alliance spoke directly with thousands of Americans on its nationwide trip across America with the Stones,” the organization said in a statement. “What we heard was clear: Americans today aren’t just planning to retire—they’re planning to live their best life. Millions of Stones fans want the freedom to continue doing what they love. It’s that exciting optimism, which has inspired this one-of-a-kind partnership, a unique opportunity to advance our social cause and message for the second year in a row: you can be financially secure if you have protected income for life.”
A definite need
The Alliance claims 80 million American households are “unprotected,” meaning they don’t have a source of protected lifetime income beyond Social Security. The Alliance works to educate Americans about what they say is the important role annuities can play in providing protected lifetime income in retirement, “so they can enjoy peace of mind and financial security for as long as they live.”
“With their outstanding success in the 21st century and creative forward-thinking, the Stones have set an example for all of us by reimagining and redefining the exciting future they can create for themselves,” Jean Statler, executive director of the Alliance, said in a statement. “Through this renewed partnership with the Stones, the Alliance will reach millions of additional Stones fans in new cities, helping them understand how protected lifetime income through an annuity can help them do just that. We strive every day to arm consumers with practical guidance and information, so they know how to take action in order to protect their retirement income.”
“We are thrilled to be renewing our sponsorship deal with the Alliance and we are looking forward to another fantastic tour together,” Joyce Smyth, Rolling Stones manager, added.
The 15-show “No Filter” U.S. tour will kick off on May 8th at the SDCCU Stadium in San Diego then to Vancouver, Minneapolis, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Buffalo, Detroit, Louisville, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Charlotte, Tampa, and conclude on July 9th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
