At the 2016 401(k) Summit, confusion over the DOL’s final fiduciary rule means 401(k) advisors, sponsors and participants need strong leadership now more than ever.
Last week in Nashville, The National Association of Plan Advisors capped its annual 401(k) Summit by bestowing Barbara Delaney, AIF, founder and Principal of Stone Street Advisor Group in Pearl River, New York, with the 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award.
Now in its 10th year, the 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award is described as “recognizing a leading financial advisor or team for contributions that exemplify leadership, experience and expertise in the retirement plan industry.”
This year’s 2016 401(k) Summit award, NAPA adds, focused on innovation and accomplishments in workforce management.
Delaney is a member of GRP Advisor Alliance, an “elite group of retirement plan firms focused on empowering advisors.”
“Barbara truly embodies GRP’s belief that we need be not only the best in the industry, but the best for the industry,” Bill Chetney, CEO of GRP Advisor Alliance and a previous recipient of the NAPA 401(k) Leadership Award, said in a statement. “We could not be more proud to call Barbara a colleague and partner.”
Chetney added that Delaney has been an “innovative trailblazer in the financial industry since 1981.”
In 2009, she merged her firm with Avenir Equity and Wall Street Access and renamed the new firm StoneStreet Equity. Recently, she formed StoneStreet Advisor Group to support “their continuing efforts in supporting Worksite Financial Solutions, an innovative way to engage participants in every step of their careers.”
Delaney is a member of NAPA’s Government Affairs Committee, and serves on the JP Morgan Advisory Board. She has been named as 401kWire’s Most Influential Leaders in Qualified Plan Business in 2009, as well as the recipient of numerous other industry awards and honors.
