Emily Lawrence is the Director of Sustainable Investing Client Engagement for North America at Northern Trust Asset Management. With over 15 years of experience in ESG and sustainable investing, she leads client education and strategy development, helping institutional investors integrate ESG principles into their portfolios. Emily collaborates directly with clients through trainings, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives. She is an active member of Northern Trust’s Sustainable Investing Council, Proxy Voting Committee, and Executive CSR Council. Her previous roles include managing research at MSCI ESG Research, where she oversaw screening and bespoke research operations. Emily holds an MSc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics, an M.Res. in International Conflict Resolution from the Institut Catholique de Paris, and a BA in French Language and Literature from the University of New Hampshire.
