Heather Apperson is a Vice President at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), serving as the Global Head of the Index Equity Portfolio Strategist Team. In this role, Heather leads the development and delivery of index equity solutions for SSGA’s global institutional clients.

With over two decades of experience in the investment industry, Heather's career includes significant positions at Barclays Global Investors and BlackRock, where she focused on global markets, institutional index investments, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Heather also served as the lead Equity Index Product Manager at Fidelity Investments, concentrating on the distribution and positioning of index mutual funds and ETFs.
