John Chartier is the Director of Media Relations for NJ TRANSIT, overseeing day-to-day press strategy, crisis response and long-range storytelling for the nation’s largest statewide public-transportation network.  Before joining NJ TRANSIT, Chartier led communications, content and creative teams at Prudential Financial, where he was a Director responsible for global media strategy and executive messaging for the Fortune 50 insurer.   Earlier in his career he served as spokesman for New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, handling media inquiries on pension-fund litigation and corporate-governance matters.
