Michael Allen is the head of technology responsible for driving technical innovation and excellence within Morningstar Retirement’s product group. He oversees product engineering, architecture, devops and quality assurance. Allen has more than 19 years of experience in information technology for the finance, banking, education, start-up and telecommunications sectors.

Prior to his current position, Allen held the role of the Chief Information Officer where he was responsible for information security, public cloud, infrastructure and corporate systems. Allen holds a Bachelors of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation, and is the chapter lead for the Chicago Open Web Application Security Project meetup group.
