Profiles in Participant Outcomes
Here at 401(k) Specialist, we’re proud to ring in 2023 with an updated version that is somewhat similar to our Top Advisor by Participant Outcomes (TAPO) features, but with a new focus.
Every now and then, most things could use a remodel. Be it a kitchen or a recognition program, a new look can… Revitalize. Refresh. Repurpose. Even before founding editor John Sullivan headed East to Washington D.C. and the American Retirement Association, this change was well in the works, for a variety of reasons. For one, compliance issues associated with award recognition programs for individuals started throwing up more roadblocks than we’d care to count. Another big factor was a desire to shift the emphasis from the advisors themselves to the impact their efforts made in improving retirement outcomes for the end-user: 401(k) participants.
“Profiles in Participant Outcomes” will now take more of a case study approach, spotlighting the ways advisors analyzed plans and took steps to markedly improve them—through higher employee participation, increasing contribution/deferral rates, raising average account balances, education initiatives… Generally, celebrating specific steps taken in real-world examples that are improving participant outcomes.
Know of a plan where you or an advisor you know has made a big difference in this way? We’re now welcoming submissions to be considered for our new section, both online and in 401(k) Specialist Magazine. To be considered, please email submissions to Brian Anderson at banderson@401kspecialist.com.
