It’s official! Grant Arends, Co-Founder and President of Retirement Services with intellicents is the 2022 Top Advisor By Participant Outcomes (TAPO).
The awards ceremony, which took place Tuesday morning at the Wealth@wor(k) conference in Las Vegas, featured this year’s top advisors. A running theme throughout this year’s group was a strong focus on helping traditionally marginalized communities save for retirement, something Arends referenced in his acceptance speech.
“At intellicents, we have an absolute commitment to overserving the underserved,” Arends said. His older brother Brad, a 2019 TAPO nominee, was also in the audience for his win, as well as the other 2022 TAPO nominees, including:
- Will Hackler, Integrated Pension Services
- Rodney Balbuena, SageView Advisory Group
- Christopher Roper, Qualified Plan Advisors
- Shannon Maloney, Strategic Retirement Partners
- Grant Arends, intellicents
- Kim Cochrane, Raffa Retirement Services, a division of HUB Retirement and Wealth Management
- Nicole Corning, Buckman & Corning Financial Strategies Group
- Mike Webb, CAPTRUST
- Doug Prince, Procourse Fiduciary Advisors
- Tony Powers, KerberRose
- Keith J. Gredys, Kidder Advisers
“We recognize that people are a mess with tomorrow’s money because they’re a mess with today’s money, which obviously then impacts outcomes,” Arends said in his nomination profile. “intellicents isn’t a great fit for clients who want to check the box. We’re a fantastic fit for employers that take a paternalistic attitude towards their employees. They realize their most valuable asset is their people, and if they hire us for that reason, they see incredible results.”
The award was announced by Alex Assaley, Managing Principal with AFS 401(k) Retirement Services, who was the 2018 overall TAPO recipient, and added a bit of suspense with a long pause before finally naming Arends.
