Wealth@wor(k) kicks off at San Antonio’s Hyatt Regency Hill Country resort this weekend, bringing together industry experts to help employees reach financial freedom through workplace retirement plans.

The annual event prides itself on its distinctive structure, which includes shorter sessions at 30 minutes instead of the usual hour-long duration, in an effort to foster meaningful discussion and elevate energy levels.

Over 50 sessions will cover a series of topics including investments, compliance, marketing, sales, and practice management—all geared to help attendees grow their practice.

Wealth@wor(k) welcomes attendees with a “Sips and Sweets” reception Sunday night, before Trey Dowdy, chief financial officer at Advisor2x, greets attendees Monday morning with a welcome address.

Sessions that follow include “Why Convergence of Wealth, Retirement & Benefits at the Workplace is Growing Rapidly,” featuring industry leaders Fred Barnstein, Scott Colangelo, Ken Bond, Joseph Denoyior, Randy Long, and Jania Stout; and “Guaranteed In-Plan Income Challenge Solved!” with experts Glenn Dial, Lisa Buffington, Matthew Eickman, and Matthew Wolniewicz.

Other sessions, like “Be the Hero” with Strategic Retirement Partner’s Jeffrey Cullen and Pretekt’s Patrick Moore, spotlights the evolution of the healthcare space in recent years and how 401(k) advisors can help solve issues within the healthcare industry. “Grow Your Practice in the 403(b) and 457(b) Markets,” hosted by OneAmerica’s Gina Golson Nunery, highlights how working with tax-exempt organizations could help advisors develop their business.

Brad Arends of intellicents leads the first day’s keynote, “Creating a Kick-Ass Sales Force,” where he explains how advisors can generate consistent and strong organic sales.

Each day will end with a networking reception, with Monday night hosted by Transamerica at the Hyatt Regency’s rustic Henry’s Hollow, while Tuesday will wrap up with a function organized by 401GO.

Tuesday morning welcomes advisors with a session led by economist Shlomo Benartzi, who will speak about the power of behavioral finance, and more specifically, how partnering with tools like artificial intelligence (AI) could deliver tailored “nudges” and guidance. Benartzi’s session will also feature a live demo of an AI advisor capable of delivering holistic advice.

Other sessions throughout the day include:

  • An Advisor’s Guide to Screening Guaranteed Income Solutions;
  • Best Practices for PEPs
  • The Future of the Next Gen Plan Advisor
  • Target Date Funds, Managed Accounts and Advisor Managed Portfolios: The Good, the Bad, and the Less Good Looking-Part
  • Pivot Mastery: How to Have More Human Conversations in the Age of AI So You Can Truly Connect

Additional notable events throughout Wealth@wor(k) feature a brand revolution workshop on Sunday by marketing, sales, and brand expert Sheri Fitts, where she will dive into strategies that enhance advisors’ visibility and establish them as thought leaders.

All women attendees, including WIPN members and non-members, are also invited to attend a WE. Inspire. Promote. Network (WIPN) networking event on Sunday hosted by The Retirement Plan Company.

All of this, and more, at Wealth@wor(k) 2024. We’ll see you all there!
