Washington, D.C.-based Groom Law Group, Chartered has been named the 2025 Litigation – ERISA “Law Firm of the Year” by Best Law Firms, with the prestigious ranking solidifying its position as a leader in the ERISA litigation landscape.

Selected from thousands of firms across the nation, the firm said in a Nov. 7 press release that award—bestowed on only one law firm in a particular practice area—“highlights Groom’s continued leadership in delivering cutting-edge legal solutions to its clients, from Fortune 500 companies to industry associations, in one of the most complex areas of law.”

The Law Firm of the Year award is given to firms that have demonstrated excellence in their practice areas, showcasing not only outstanding legal expertise but also a commitment to client service and innovative solutions. “Groom has a long-standing reputation for its depth of knowledge in employee benefits law, and this recognition reinforces its position as a leader in the industry,” the release said. The firm’s selection as Law Firm of the Year is based on a rigorous evaluation of feedback from clients, peers, and industry leaders.

Groom’s litigation practice, the statement said, is distinguished by its experience in handling complex ERISA cases, representing clients in a wide array of disputes, including pension and welfare plan issues, fiduciary duty claims, and regulatory compliance matters. “The firm’s innovative approach and strategic guidance have consistently yielded favorable outcomes for its clients.”

Reflecting on the firm’s expertise, one client said, “The Groom Law Group has extraordinary expertise in arcane tax, employment, and benefit-related topics, which makes them essential for federal regulatory matters. The firm’s attorneys also perform phenomenally in litigation with excellence!”

This is the 15th edition of Best Law Firms. To be eligible, a firm must have at least one lawyer recognized in the current edition of Best Lawyers in a Best Law Firms practice area and geographic jurisdiction to become eligible for a Best Law Firms award.

The quantitative and qualitative data is combined into an overall Best Law Firms score for each firm. Because firms were often separated by small differences in overall score, Best Lawyers uses a tiering system rather than ranking law firms sequentially.
