Jamie Hopkins to Head Private Wealth Team at Bryn Mawr Trust

Industry leader Jamie P. Hopkins is moving to Pennsylvania-based Bryn Mawr Trust, a release announced today.

In his new role, effective October 1, Hopkins will be entrusted in growing the bank’s private wealth management business. “We are thrilled to welcome Jamie to lead our Private Wealth Management teams. His extensive experience, dynamic leadership and dedication to Client success align perfectly with our values and mission,” said Arthur J. Bacci, EVP, chief wealth officer and interim CFO, in a statement announcing the appointment. “His vision, innovative mindset and strategic acumen will strengthen our Wealth division and reinforce our ability to deliver unparalleled wealth management solutions.”

Hopkins previously worked at Carson Group for nearly five years in several capacities, with his most recent as managing partner of wealth solutions. He also adopted additional roles including managing director of Carson Coaching in 2020, his retirement plan consulting practice, and as a finance professor with Creighton University’s Heider College of Business. Prior to that, he was a professor of retirement planning, insurance law, and estate planning at The American College of Financial Services.

Hopkins, who cited his reason for leaving Carson Group to be close to his family, will remain as president of FinServ Foundation, a nonprofit group supported by Carson Group that offers education, mentorship, and resources to college students interested in financial services careers, and will also keep his equity stake in the Omaha, Nebraska-based firm.

“The next phase of the journey will be rewarding and exciting,” wrote Hopkins in a LinkedIn post announcing his upcoming role. “I’m blessed and grateful to get the opportunity in life to work with amazing people and BMT/WSFS is a fantastic company and team. Looking forward to building up something special. Big things to come.”

Hopkins is a graduate of Temple University School of Law, where he received his LL.M., and Villanova University School of Law, where he earned his juris doctorate degree. He earned a master’s degree in financial planning from The American College of Financial Services and a master’s degree in business administration from Villanova University.
