Retirement industry leaders will be converging on Austin, Texas next week for the LeafHouse National Retirement Symposium, where the theme is “The Art of Change – Paradigms are shifting: See different. Learn different. Be Different.”

The conference will run Oct. 11-13 at the W Hotel in Austin, designed to be an immersive experience for retirement plan professionals that will provide plan advisors and RIA/BD executives the opportunity network with industry peers and national leaders from recordkeepers, asset managers, third-party administrators and other financial service providers.

“This year, I have the added benefit of revealing at least 3 major announcements that will fundamentally change the industry perception of who and what LeafHouse is as an organization.”

“Leading up to LNRS, I am always filled with anticipation. This year, I have the added benefit of revealing at least 3 major announcements that will fundamentally change the industry perception of who and what LeafHouse is as an organization,” LeafHouse Financial CEO Todd Kading told 401(k) Specialist.

He added that the dream when starting LNRS in 2019 was to create positive change in the retirement industry.

“As we bring together over 200 key industry leaders in 2023, I can firmly say that we have accomplished that mission,” Kading said. “I look forward to highlighting some of the Change Agents that have made a difference, not just in our industry, but in the world.”

The recently “retired” Nevin Adams will serve as the emcee of the event, which features two full days of speakers and panel sessions debating concepts such as personalization and technology related to the event’s theme, The Art of Change.

“Change, like art, is ever evolving. It’s dynamic, unpredictable, and essential for progress,” said Kassandra Hendrix, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Brand at LeafHouse. “In the finance sector, resisting change is like a painter refusing to try new colors—it’s limiting, and it dulls the vibrancy of potential outcomes. That is why we embrace change.”

In addition to a roster of A-list retirement industry leaders speaking during sessions and panel discussions, the event features some intriguing keynote sessions.

One highlight figures to be a keynote from the “father of the video game industry” (and inventor of PONG) Nolan Kay Bushnell, an American businessman and electrical engineer who established Atari, Inc. and the Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre, and was named one of Newsweek’s “50 Men Who Changed America.”

Another highlight is sure to be an interview with Guadalupe Laiz, who will talk about overcoming fear to create and her unwavering commitment to being different. Laiz is a highly acclaimed international artist, photographer and explorer whose photographic odysseys have taken her across continents, delving deep into the heart of nature, cultures, and the majestic beings that inhabit our world.

Thom Singer, CEO of the Austin Technology Council and known as “The Conference Catalyst,” will also speak during a keynote session titled, “Try New Things: Being Open to the Unknown.”
