No one in the retirement business would accuse brothers J.D. and Brandon Carlson—the creative minds behind the popular weekly show “Retireholics”—of being straitlaced or boring. Now they’re bringing their unique color to design and branding for financial services professionals.

This week the Carlson brothers officially launched “Seventy5 Studios,” whose main aim is to do away with uninspired design and inject creativity into the field. The company offers a range of services including concept development, product rollout, branding, logo design, websites, sales collateral, corporate identity, event/conference design, and product strategy.

Born within the industry, J.D. Carlson, the Retireholics host and CEO of Plan Design Consultants, said Seventy5 Studios understands the space’s unique challenges and is committed to helping companies navigate them through innovative and creative design solutions.

“There is a sea of sameness out there right now and it doesn’t reflect the unique products, passionate professionals, and overall coolness of our industry, our mission is to change that,” Carlson said. “It’s about solving problems, it’s about standing out, it’s about driving results. Our industry does cool things, it’s about time that our message and our aesthetic inspire and excite as well.”

Seventy5 Studios is poised to bring a fresh perspective to the financial services industry. Samara Zarco Goytortua is the third member of the leadership team. As the Creative Director, she is a multi-disciplinary designer who not only leads the team but was integral in the build-out of internal operations and the user experience.

“Our process motivates each client to evolve, to be excited about their brand, and to use design as the tool to communicate their unique vision,” Zarco Goytortua said.

“Design is about shaping impressions” adds Brandon Carlson. “There is a science behind it all, a psychology and a strategy.”

Why this, why now? In a LinkedIn blog post announcing the launch, J.D. Carlson notes the financial services industry is actually really cool—full of passionate people who really love what they do, have an expertise and want to make a difference. “We need that very message to resonate with our prospects and clients. It’s time for the logo, the website, the sales collateral, the product, the aesthetics and the message to be as inspiring and impressive as the people and companies behind it all,” Carlson said.

The company is built to support advisors, broker-dealers, recordkeepers, investment firms, and technology companies. For more information, visit www.seventy5.io.
