Vestwell and Northern Trust announce new leaders to their teams, while New York-based Wealthspire Advisors adds a new advisor and location to their firm.

Vestwell names chief strategy officer

Vestwell announced that Danya Dumbrill Early will be joining its executive leadership team as chief strategy officer, reporting to Vestwell founder and CEO Aaron Schumm.

Dumbrill Early spent her career in financial services and technology roles, previously working as chief strategy officer and chief of staff at Securitize, a blockchain-based platform for alternative assets. She was also part of the launch team for Two Sigma’s fintech startup (Two Sigma Insurance Quantified) and prior to that was the chief of staff and head of finance for Goldman Sachs Investment Management Divisions-Operations. Danya began her career at Goldman Sachs in equity research covering software companies.

As Vestwell’s chief strategy officer, Dumbrill Early will support the firm’s expansion by advancing the strategic roadmap, leading mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations, as well as ensuring financial wellness products are accessible to employers, financial advisors, and individuals throughout the country. She will also lead corporate development initiatives with her team at Vestwell. 

Dumbrill Early holds a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College. 

Northern Trust appoints global FX leader

Dane Fannin at Northern Trust will lead its Global Foreign Exchange business and expand his Securities Finance role, the company announced in a new release.

As global head of Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) and Securities Finance, Fannin, who joined Northern Trust in 2006, will be responsible for the continued technology innovation and business growth across the suite of GFX and Securities Finance solutions. He reports to Guy Gibson, executive vice president and global head of Capital Markets, Banking & Treasury Services. 

“We are excited to announce this expansion in Dane’s responsibilities which reflect his strong vision and leadership in the development of our integrated capabilities across our global Securities Finance business,” said Gibson. “Dane’s dual focus will support our clients as they increasingly look for holistic solutions across their FX and Securities Finance needs to meet their liquidity and portfolio optimization objectives.”

Dane started his career with Northern Trust in London in 2006 within Securities Lending. He subsequently spent 12 years in Asia-Pacific holding a number of positions within Northern Trust’s Capital Markets business, including managing the APAC Securities Lending trading team in Hong Kong. Prior to assuming his role as global head of Securities Finance, Dane was head of Capital Markets Asia-Pacific.

Northern Trust’s Securities Finance offers a suite of integrated capabilities across Securities Lending & Borrowing, Financing & Liquidity and Collateral Solutions.

GFX provides a range of liquidity, trading, transaction processing and outsourced FX solutions for institutional investors across Direct FX, eFX, Currency Management, Complete FX and Custody FX. 

Wealthspire hires advisor, adds Denver office

Wealthspire Advisors LLC, an NFP company and independent registered investment advisor (RIA) headquartered in New York, is adding advisor Amanda Phillips-DeSaverio to the team.

Phillips-DeSaverio joins the firm’s newly established Denver, Colorado location and will be working alongside colleagues from NFP.

Phillips-DeSaverio has more than 15 years of financial services experience working with high-net-worth clients, offering holistic wealth management services, and addressing clients’ complex needs. She brings approximately 30 clients and $60 million in assets under management to Wealthspire’s existing $20.38 billion in AUM. Previously, she held roles at The Corundum Group, Sunflower Bank, and First Western Trust.
