Tuesday, Feb. 25 is National Fiduciary Day, and Fi360 is celebrating this year with an exclusive event in its hometown of Pittsburgh, while additional events in the form of trainings are set for Chicago, Philadelphia and San Jose, Calif.

Industry experts Blaine Aikin, AIFA, CFA, CFP, executive chairman at Fi360, and Duane Thompson, AIFA, senior policy expert at Fi360, will be featured at the Pittsburgh event, being held from 2-6 p.m. EST at Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Aiken and Thompson will cover the past, present and future of fiduciary responsibilities and opportunities. The session will provide a brief historical perspective of the role of fiduciary advisors; recap current SEC, DOL, and state-level fiduciary regulation; and remind attendees of the recent volatility of fiduciary regulation and of the virtues of a brandable fiduciary-centric business model.

That opening session will be followed by an analysis of Fi360’s latest practice management data and trends by Michael Muirhead, AIF, PPC, senior vice president of professional development at Fi360.

As the retirement plan advisor marketplace continues to change and evolve at an extremely rapid pace, this second session is intended to help advisors understand important advisor practice trends and how these trends can be translated into growth strategies for their businesses.

As for the three training events being held during this fourth annual National Fiduciary Day, Fi360 says Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) Designation training empowers investment professionals with the fiduciary knowledge and tools they need to serve their clients’ best interests while successfully growing their business.

Advisors who complete the training are eligible to earn the AIF Designation and are able to demonstrate the added value they bring to prospective and existing clients. Fi360 is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the AIF Designation, making the designation part of an elite group of accredited designations recognized by FINRA.

The trainings feature a classroom seminar for participants who wish to learn about the investment fiduciary methodology. It is also a core requirement to obtain the AIF Designation.

Prior to attending the seminar, participants must complete the online self-paced portion of the training. The AIF Final Examination (another core requirement) is administered at the conclusion of the seminar.
