J.P. Morgan Asset Management last week announced the launch of the JPMorgan Flexible Income ETF on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The new active exchange-traded fund (ETF) represents the Multi-Asset Solutions team’s first foray into actively managed multi-asset ETFs, designed to offer investors a combination of income and capital growth.

The new ETF presents a $500 billion opportunity for the firm, J.P. Morgan anticipates, along  with continued growth as the ETF market in this space matures.

“JFLI is a game-changer in income investing. By harnessing the power of diverse asset classes and our global expertise, we’re delivering a dynamic solution that not only meets our clients’ income needs but also thrives in today’s fast-paced market environment,” said Jamie Kramer, CIO and global head of Multi-Asset Solutions at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

The team will be managed by portfolio managers Michael Schoenhaut and Eric Bernbaum, along with Multi-Asset Solutions co-chief investment officer Gary Herbert. Schoenhault has worked at J.P. Morgan since 1997 and has held other positions within the Multi-Asset Solutions team, while Bernbaum joined the firm in 2008. Herbert started at J.P. Morgan in 2020 after spending 10 years at investment management firm Brandywine Global LLC.

According to J.P. Morgan, the fund invests in a diverse range of income-producing securities, including direct equity holdings and fixed income ETFs, across both developed and emerging markets worldwide.

“The launch of the JPMorgan Flexible Income ETF is a significant milestone in our active ETF strategy, providing a differentiated approach to income investing,” said John Harrington, global head of ETF Product at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. “Combining Active ETF technology with the benefits of multi-asset investing provides investors with a robust approach, offering flexibility, diversification, and efficiency to navigate complex markets and work towards their financial goals. With our expertise in asset allocation and risk management, alongside our desire to help clients achieve their income goals, we’re thrilled to add JFLI to our ETF lineup.”
