In a very high-profile retirement industry move, Prime Capital Financial announced today that Jania Stout, CPFA, is joining the company as President of its retirement plan consulting business, Prime Capital Retirement, formerly Qualified Plan Advisors and its financial wellness company, Prime Capital Wellness, formerly Financial Fitness for Life.

Stout is moving from her position as senior vice president of retirement and wealth at Atlanta-based OneDigital, which she assumed in 2021 after OneDigital acquired the assets of Fiduciary Plan Advisors (FPA), the Maryland-based retirement plan firm founded by Stout, the former NAPA president and 401(k) Specialist’s 2020 Top Advisor by Participant Outcomes (TAPO).

“It’s not about what I am leaving but about where I am going,” Stout told 401(k) Specialist. “I will always love my clients and my team at OneDigital. They know this is a great move for me to keep growing personally.”

In a press release today, Overland Park, Kan.-based Prime Capital Financial said that with her vast experience across provider and advisory roles in the retirement industry, Stout will devote her talent and passion to improving retirement outcomes on a national level.

“At her core, Jania wants working Americans to be confident in their futures,” said Glenn Spencer, chief executive officer of Prime Capital Financial. “That spark has energized her work in the retirement space throughout her career, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes as a practice leader with a platform and a clear message.”

Stout said she is excited to get to know the Prime Capital advisors and help find ways to do even more. “This company has tons of great people and I am lucky to have the opportunity to work with Glenn Spencer and the other leaders to continue to build a world class organization,” Stout said.

As President of Prime Capital Retirement and Prime Capital Wellness, Stout will work closely with the founder of Prime Capital Retirement, Scott Colangelo.

“Her unparalleled dedication and wealth of experience align seamlessly with our values, and I am confident she will guide us to even greater success in the future.”

“Twenty years ago, I founded the retirement practice to bridge the gaps in education and resources for retirement savers. Jania is precisely the kind of visionary leader we need to carry that mission forward. Her unparalleled dedication and wealth of experience align seamlessly with our values, and I am confident she will guide us to even greater success in the future,” said Colangelo, who serves as chairman and managing partner of Prime Capital Financial.

“I am super excited to take my 30 years of industry experience to Prime Capital and join my friend Scott Colangelo,” Stout told 401(k) Specialist. “I have known Scott for almost 20 years and think of him as one of the mavericks in our industry. He cares about working America and our ‘why’ is so aligned. We are going to keep pushing forward to find ways to truly help employees find financial independence.”

Stout’s work in the retirement industry is driven by her deep appreciation for fiduciary governance and commitment to the success of employee financial wellness programs. Her career began with some of the industry’s leading plan providers, ADP and Fidelity. She then transitioned into advisory roles, where she built a reputation for delivering results for plan sponsors and plan participants.

Stout’s influence extends well beyond her client work. Stout has testified before Congress and worked closely with the Department of Labor on key fiduciary regulations. She is also a highly sought-after speaker, regularly addressing audiences on key topics such as financial wellness, employee engagement and fiduciary governance.

Now her career enters a new chapter.

“Prime Capital Financial understands what is at stake for retirees and has built out an incredible team in its retirement practice,” Stout said. “We have the skills and support we need to guide plan participants toward the lives they want to live, and share our initiatives and solutions on a national stage.”
