Strongpoint Partners, a retirement services platform serving small- to mid-sized businesses with integrated retirement third-party administration (TPA), recordkeeping, payroll, and HR solutions, announced a new partnership with Actuaries Unlimited (AUI), a provider of custom retirement solutions with a focus on cash balance, defined benefit, and other tax-efficient solutions for employers and their employees.
AUI, who has served the greater Los Angeles, California area for more than 50 years, will grow Strongpoint’s actuarial team to more than 25 individuals, located from coast-to-coast across the US.
“AUI has an incredible reputation for being a strong team of trusted, knowledgeable leaders, including highly qualified actuaries and pension administrators, making them an ideal fit for Strongpoint,” said Danny Hest, CEO of Strongpoint Partners. “When I first met Mindy Gassman and Mark Fishman [co-founders at AUI] a year ago, I was struck by their commitment to delivering high-quality service to their clients and the way they spoke about their team and the next generation of leadership, including Alexandra Walker, Erin Russell, Kory Hoertz, and Brian Gassman. With the addition of AUI, we are expanding a critical set of expertise in the Cash Balance and Defined Benefit space and strengthening the talent pool across Strongpoint Partners. With more than 200 Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit administrators across Strongpoint, we’ve seen every unique situation and challenge.”
“Strongpoint Partners stood out to me because of their values,” said Gassman. “As we looked to the future for Actuaries Unlimited, it was important to me that if we expanded our family through a partnership, that we do so with a group that shares our principles of integrity, curiosity, and problem solving. Strongpoint is the perfect match, and this maturation will allow us to continue our legacy of providing the most creative plans and dedicated service to our local market while benefiting from the fantastic national resources that Strongpoint provides.”
Mark Fishman shared his optimism for the future of AUI through this partnership. “We’re proud of our local reputation as the go-to experts in retirement planning, and the partnership with Strongpoint will be invaluable as AUI continues to grow and serve our clients. We’re looking forward to continuing this legacy with more resources than ever before while maintaining personal service and close professional relationships.”
Alexandra Walker, co-president at AUI, agrees. “Since its founding in 1970, Actuaries Unlimited has been fortunate to have grown into a substantial business. As we’ve reached almost 60 employees, it’s become obvious that we now require resources that weren’t needed when we were a small business,” said Walker. “In partnership with Strongpoint, we now have access to enterprise HR, IT, and Finance resources, which will allow our team to fully focus on what we do best: building and delivering the best retirement solutions possible for our clients.”
“We immediately recognized the alignment with AUI’s team, and the benefits we can provide to one another,” said Jack Toner, VP of Corporate Development for Strongpoint. “Through this partnership, we will expand our expertise in Cash Balance plans, and we are thrilled about the opportunity to be able to collaborate across our partner businesses.”
“At Strongpoint Partners, our people are our greatest strength, and we truly believe that we are Stronger Together,” continued Hest. “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome AUI to our family, and to partner with them to strengthen all of our businesses.”
As with all Strongpoint partners, the full team at AUI will remain in place, and all AUI employees will continue to serve their clients.
