DENVER, Colo., March 5, 2019—401(k) Specialist, the only magazine, website and e-newsletters dedicated exclusively to helping financial advisors ensure a secure retirement for hardworking Americans through the 401(k), recently announced that it has hired Brian Anderson as managing editor.
“We are extremely pleased to have someone of Brian’s experience, knowledge and enthusiasm,” said John Sullivan, 401(k) Specialist’s editor-in-chief. “Brian brings a wealth of ideas to his role, and understands the critical importance of quality retirement plan content to successful outcomes and advisor growth.”
Anderson, a longtime Colorado resident, comes to 401(k) Specialist from Insurance Forums, where he was Executive Editor for the website, its newsletters and magazines catering to insurance professionals.
At Insurance Forums, Anderson worked to develop articles—written in-house and contributed by industry professionals, that complement the issues, concerns and ideas expressed in ongoing discussion threads by Insurance Forums’ 70,000+ members.
Prior to that, he spent five years as the Editor-in-Chief of Life Insurance Selling and briefly as Executive Managing Editor of National Underwriter Life and Health until departing in early 2014.
He was also Content Director for the company’s portal website, LifeHealthPro.com, and served as the site’s Your Practice channel editor.
Before taking over Life Insurance Selling in March of 2009, Anderson served as Editor of Senior Market Advisor magazine, later rebranded as Retirement Advisor.
“I’m excited to dive into yet another aspect of the financial services industry, and especially with a property that has grown as fast as 401(k) Specialist,” Anderson said. “I look forward to using my background in developing great content to help 401(k) advisors with a steady flow of useful information that can help them build their business.”
With more than 20 years serving financial markets, John Sullivan is the former editor-in-chief of Investment Advisor magazine and retirement editor of ThinkAdvisor.com. Sullivan is also the former editor of Boomer Market Advisor and Bank Advisor magazines, and has a background in the insurance and investment industries in addition to his journalism roots.
