Viserly, a new company and software for the retirement plan industry, was officially launched today by Shane Hanson, the CEO of Boise, Idaho-based Freedom Fiduciaries who is also the CEO of Viserly.

The new venture is being billed as a first-of-its-kind participant engagement platform built specifically for retirement plan advisors and designed to transform how firms connect with employees at scale. Viserly integrates directly with over 200 payroll systems, automates personalized outreach through real-time triggers, and enables advisors to build trust-based relationships with participants—delivering scalable, data-driven guidance that drives outcomes, not just activity.
Hanson said Viserly addresses one of the most persistent challenges in the retirement plan and benefits industry: fragmented, delayed access to participant data. Traditionally, advisors have lacked real-time visibility into payroll and census information, instead relying on third-party providers for their data. Viserly disrupts this model by delivering direct, secure, and automated access to participant data—empowering advisors to deliver timely, personalized communication throughout the employee lifecycle.
“Viserly was created to empower advisors with direct access to their clients’ data for real-time engagement, ultimately benefiting both their clients and their employees,” Hanson said. “For too long, participant engagement has been reactive, manual, and fragmented. Viserly changes that with a platform designed for automation, scalability, and meaningful relationship impact.”
Hanson added that today’s landscape is marked by inconsistent processes for accessing participant data. Each service provider uses its own format, cadence, and limitations, creating a disjointed ecosystem that advisors must navigate. The result, he said, is data friction that leads to either inaction or wasted hours spent manually formatting spreadsheets, validating records, and tracking down contact information. And just when the data finally looks usable, it’s already out of date.
The release said Viserly eliminates this friction with real-time payroll integration and automation that keeps participant data accurate, accessible, and actionable—at all times. This unlocks new capacity for advisors and ensures participant outreach is always relevant and timely.
Convergence of retirement, wealth demands action
Viserly’s press release said that as retirement plans and wealth management continue to converge, building meaningful relationships with participants is more critical than ever. “Yet for too long, advisors have lacked a scalable platform to foster lasting, impactful connections,” the release continues. “Viserly solves this.”
When advisors deliver the right message at the right time, engagement improves, trust builds, and participants are most likely to take meaningful action on their financial journey.
In addition to real-time payroll integration, key features of Viserly include:
• Smart Automation: Personalized communications triggered automatically by key lifecycle events (eligibility, termination, status changes, etc.)
• Pre-built Journeys: Leverage proven journeys that automatically engage participants on your behalf when an action occurs.
• Drag-and-Drop Customization: A no-code interface for branding, messaging, and workflow customization.
• Data-Driven Insights: High-resolution dashboards to monitor participant engagement and drive strategy.
• Integrate Existing Tools: Leverage Viserly to seamlessly distribute existing tools, such as financial wellness programs, surveys, videos, planning tools, and more, all within a single, integrated platform.
• Enterprise-Grade Security: Encrypted infrastructure with AI-driven threat detection and multi-factor authentication.
With Viserly, Hanson said advisors can send tailored messages on real-time data without lifting a finger. Whether it’s welcoming a new hire, connecting with a terminated employee, or nudging deferral increases, Viserly automates the right message at the right time.
Today’s release notes that the platform is currently in limited beta, available exclusively to a select group of firms committed to redefining participant engagement, with a full launch scheduled for early this summer. Those interested in learning more about the technology can do so at viserly.com.
