It’s time to start getting excited about the 2025 NAPA 401(k) Summit—and about getting registered and booking your room to avoid being shut out of the workplace retirement plan market’s biggest event of the year.
In 2025, the Summit returns to Las Vegas for the first time since 2021—but not just anywhere in Las Vegas. It’s at the new Fontainebleau Las Vegas luxury resort hotel, ushering in a new era of luxury hospitality defined by a stunning 150,000-square-foot casino, world-class dining, vibrant entertainment and nightlife, and more than 3,600 exquisite hotel rooms and suites.
NAPA is offering a special room rate of $295 Room/Night + $35 Resort Fee/Night + Taxes. The hotel room block cut-off date is Monday, April 7 (or until conference room rate sells out, whichever comes first).
The 2025 NAPA 401(k) Summit, April 28-30, is the nation’s premier retirement plan conference, offering unparalleled education opportunities with a deep three-day agenda featuring more than 60 high-profile speakers covering topics of critical interest to retirement plan advisors.
Nevin Adams, one of the masterminds behind building the agenda for the Summit, said work on next year’s event started pretty much the week after last year’s Summit wrapped up in Nashville—and the work continues. As the 2025 event draws nearer, expect to hear more about some high-profile keynote speakers and details about the Summit’s famous “After Dark” agenda, featuring live music and the vibrant, iconic atmosphere of the City of Lights.
One notable difference for 2025 is that the event runs Monday-Wednesday instead of the usual Sunday-Tuesday schedule.
As usual, the event kicks into high gear early with the perennial favorite “From the Hill to the Summit” address, where American Retirement Association CEO Brian Graff offers unique insights and perspectives on the legislative and regulatory landscape. With a new president in the White House and a freshly elected Congress in 2025, Graff will take a deep dive into what lies ahead and how these changes will impact advisors and their clients.
“With a new Administration coming in—and the upcoming expiration of provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017—that’s going to create some interesting dynamics, not to mention a likely shift in regulatory attitudes on things like crypto and private equity,” Adams said.
Among the many topics on tap during Monday’s agenda include sessions on how to price your retirement plan services; pension risk transfers; keys to overcoming low utilization of lifetime income options; and developing a growth mindset.
Some of Tuesday’s session topics include building a better partnership with plan sponsors; how to simplify plan menus for better participant outcomes; the convergence of wealth and retirement planning; why too few participants are utilizing financial wellness programs; cracking the C Suite with NQ plan design; improving your practice’s profitability; and an “ERISA at 50” litigation update. The middle day’s busy agenda also features the “Nevin & Fred Podcast Live,” with perspectives on a wide range of retirement plan issues from Nevin Adams and Fred Reish.
Also on the event’s second day, Graff will be back on the main stage in a session titled, “Beyond the Finish Line: Embracing New Retirement Realities,” where he will explore the evolving landscape of retirement, how to personalize communication with participants, and why we need to move beyond the “not enough” mindset.
Wednesday’s session topics include communication strategies for every generation; a panel discussion of what the retirement industry will look like in 2035; and harnessing the benefits of social media. The concluding general session features what’s being billed as “The Ultimate Retirement Plan Quiz Bowl,” pitting a trio of high-profile powerhouse teams against each other to determine the ultimate retirement plan knowledge champion.
“We’re calling it ‘It’s NAPA-demic’ (based on It’s Academic). “We haven’t yet finalized the contestants, but it should be a lot of fun (and educational, as well!)” Adams said.
About half the agenda is focused on specific elements of practice management.
“One of the things that continues to make Summit unique is that opportunity to learn from some of the best advisors on ways to better run your practice, including elements like improving profitability, and effective use of social media, but more importantly how to adequately price your services, and things like exploring—and remedying—blind spots in your focus,” Adams said.
He added that 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for retirement plans, with a number of key provisions of SECURE 2.0 taking hold, notably the application of automatic enrollment to all new plans established since 2022. These and other key issues will all be covered at the Summit.
“There’s been continued development, and some shifts in adoption, of retirement income, managed accounts, and even financial wellness. These are all on our agenda, as are non-qualified plans, pension risk transfers, and the implications and opportunities from the convergence of wealth and retirement,” Adams said.
Advisors can register for the 2025 NAPA 401(k) Summit here to join the largest gathering of retirement-plan-focused advisors in the country—a veritable “who’s who” of the industry. Roughly 2,800 industry professionals are expected to attend, including 1,400 advisors from all 50 states.
